Connect in Claude (2 minutes)

    Open Claude's connector settings

    In Claude (web or desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Available on Claude paid plans.

    Paste the Keelara MCP server URL

    Name it anything (e.g. "CookSurprise"). Leave the OAuth Client ID/Secret fields empty — registration is automatic.

    Click Connect and sign in with a Keelara account

    A Keelara login window opens. Sign in — or create a free account with email or Google — and approve access. One Keelara login works across CookSurprise, MixSurprise, and the rest of the Keelara toolkit.

    Recommended: set the tools to "Always allow"

    In the connector's tool permissions, choose Always allow. Then try it: "Generate a 20-minute spicy vegan noodle bowl, then suggest a substitute for fish sauce."

And because your assistant reasons over the results, whole workflows come free: "generate a recipe for what's in my fridge and scale it for four", "find me a 15-minute vegetarian dinner", "what can I swap for buttermilk?" Pair it with MixSurprise for a matching cocktail, too.

How usage works

  • ✓ Browsing the curated recipe collection is always free.
  • ✓ The free tier includes a daily allowance of recipe generation and cooking-assistant questions — no credit card.
  • ✓ When you hit the daily cap, your assistant tells you and links to upgrade — nothing fails silently.
  • ✓ Need more volume? Higher tiers are available via the Keelara API console.

Privacy

  • ✓ Prompts you send to generate a recipe are processed to produce the result and not used to train AI models.
  • ✓ Access is tied to your Keelara sign-in.

Beyond Claude

CookSurprise MCP follows the open Model Context Protocol, so the same URL works in any MCP-compatible client — ChatGPT (Apps/developer mode), Cursor, agent frameworks, and AWS Bedrock agent stacks. Point the client at the server URL above and authenticate with a Keelara account.

Troubleshooting

  • Tools look outdated or missing? Remove and re-add the connector — clients pin the tool list when you first connect.
  • "Daily limit reached"? You've used today's free recipe generations — they reset tomorrow, or upgrade for more.
